Communicable Diseases
The Knox County Health Department
Communicable Disease Program conducts
specific activities to protect the community
from disease. These are the activities:
- Conduct disease investigations
- Survey and monitor for disease
- Educate the public
- Inform the community to help prevent the
spread of disease
- Enforce laws and regulations to protect health
The Communicable Disease Program serves
as a resource for the general public, schools
and day cares as well as community and medical
entities regarding infectious diseases, infection
control and prevention and pandemic preparedness.
