Healthy Communities Project
2006 IPLAN
The Knox County Health Department completed its IPLAN in September 2006
and identified the top six health priorities to focus on over the next five year
period (2006 – 2011). The priorities selected were these:
- cardiovascular disease
- respiratory disease
- dental and oral health
- access to primary and preventative health care
- mental health
- substance abuse.
July 28, 2006, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) approved
our community needs assessment and health plan (IPLAN) and granted the
Knox County Health Department certification as a local health department
for a period of five years.
